My Name Is In The Freezer Section!

This is quite possibly the coolest thing I've heard since starting the blog. Shortly after I did the ribs, Linda wrote to tell me:

BTW, have done your ribs and sauce (recent ones in foil) twice since you published the recipe. Last time was for our Memorial Day BBQ. Big hit. Major hit. We have packets of ribs and containers of sauce in the freezer labeled "Drew's Ribs" and "Drew's Sauce". You're a big hit in our kitchen. Thanks for doing your blog. It, and you, are awesome!

She ... has my name on the packages? SQEEEEE!

I told my wife about it, and she said I should ask for a picture. This is the first time anyone has ever called something "Drew's Ribs". (Okay, I suppose they wouldn't have called an apple pie "Drew's Ribs" no matter how good it was. You know what I meant.)

That, up top there, is what I got in my inbox today. Along with the note, "The sauce is history and we only have two packets of ribs left."

Do you have any idea how cool that is?

Did you just squeal like a girl? ; )
I have yet to try those fabulous looking ribs (waiting for the morning sickness to get all the way better...still) but I'm not surprised that people have stuff like "Drew's Ribs" labeled in their freezer...you have fabulous recipes and you should be proud! Keep 'em coming! : )

That's awesome! I love it when people make my recipes but I no one has ever name checked me on them before. :)

You have Definitely made the Big Time, Drew! That is very, very cool! I excuse your squealing like a little girl, because it is just that cool, and little girls really do that Super Excited Squeal correctly!

You might also find this cool: Google Analytics tells me that someone found my site today by searching for "drew kime chef."

Or was that you searching for yourself?

I'm smiling.
My family gave me a surprise birthday dinner (I'm changing decades) and they took up a collection ... with the stipulation that I replace my falling apart grill with a new one and invite everyone present over for ribs! So, guess who's recipe I'm going to use on them?!!

Kristin, that wasn't me ... but why was Google pointing to your site instead of mine? And who put the word "chef" next to my name. I'm no chef, I'm a cook.

Barb, color me jealous on the new grill. Mine is ... not well. The splatter shield that keeps grease from dripping on the burner looks more like a screen.

Its only a matter of time before your ribs are a household name!

BTW, other than the funny hats, what's the difference between a cook and a chef?

Ali, technical answer: A chef -- French for "chief" -- is in charge of a crew of cooks. Like so many other food questions, "What does that mean?" comes down to just translating it from French.

Preferred answer: The difference between a chef and a cook? Arrogance.
